Terms & Conditions

Last updated: February 2026

1. About These Terms

These terms and conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the ForgeDash platform, operated by ForgeDash Ltd (Company Number: 17032281), registered in England and Wales. By creating an account or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Registered Office: 14 Willow Way, Wisbech, UK
Contact: [email protected]

2. Service Scope & Licensing

ForgeDash provides cloud-based financial management software designed for UK self-employed individuals and sole traders. Our platform helps you track income, expenses, and tax obligations.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use ForgeDash for your personal business purposes, subject to these Terms.

Important: ForgeDash is not an accountancy firm and does not provide financial, tax, or legal advice. Calculations are provided for guidance only. You are responsible for verifying all figures before submitting information to HMRC.

3. Pricing, Payment & Billing

The Essential tier is free with no time limit or credit card required. Paid tiers (when available) are billed monthly or annually as stated on our Pricing page.

  • All prices are displayed in GBP
  • VAT — ForgeDash is not currently registered for VAT, so no VAT is charged and the price shown is the whole price. Should ForgeDash become VAT registered, VAT will be added to the prices shown at the prevailing rate; we will notify you before it applies to a bill
  • No hidden fees — the price displayed is the total price you pay
  • Payments are processed securely by Stripe
  • We will never retroactively charge for features included in the free tier at the time of your signup

Payments you collect from your own customers. Where you take payment through ForgeDash (Pay Now links, QR codes and on-device checkout), we charge a platform fee on the amount collected — currently 0.5%, shown in your dashboard. Stripe's own processing fees are separate and set by Stripe.

If you refund your customer, we refund our fee on the refunded amount, in proportion to it. Stripe does not return its processing fee on a refund, and we cannot return it on their behalf. Where a payment is lost to a chargeback rather than refunded, we absorb the dispute fee Stripe charges us and retain the platform fee.

4. Auto-Renewal & Cancellation

Paid subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you will retain access until then.

If you cancel, your account will revert to the free Essential tier. Your data will be retained and accessible.

5. Your Consumer Rights & 30-Day Guarantee

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have specific legal rights. At ForgeDash, we extend these rights to provide a 30-day satisfaction guarantee:

  • 30-day refund guarantee — you may cancel a paid subscription within 30 days of your first purchase for a full refund, no questions asked
  • Quality — digital content and services must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, and match the description
  • Remedies — if the service is faulty, you have the right to a repair, replacement, or price reduction

To exercise your refund rights, you can use the "Request Refund" button within the Subscription section of your dashboard, or contact [email protected] within 30 days of your purchase.

Note: Refunds are processed manually and may take 5-10 business days to appear in your account. Once a refund is issued, your account will revert to the Essential tier immediately.

6. Your Data

You own all data you enter into ForgeDash. We process your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and UK GDPR.

  • You may export your data at any time
  • We do not sell or share your data with third parties except as necessary to deliver our services
  • If you close your account, we will delete your data in accordance with our retention policy (financial records are retained for 6 years as required by HMRC)

Your customers' data. When you enter your own customers' details into ForgeDash, you are the data controller and we act as your data processor. Our Data Processing Agreement sets out that relationship as UK GDPR Article 28 requires, and forms part of these Terms. It applies automatically to your account — no signature is needed.

7. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property in ForgeDash — including the software, design, branding, and content — remains the property of ForgeDash Ltd. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the platform.

You retain full ownership of all data and content you create within ForgeDash (invoices, records, financial data).

8. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use ForgeDash for any unlawful purpose or to process fraudulent transactions
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' accounts or data
  • Interfere with or disrupt the platform's infrastructure
  • Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from the platform
  • Resell, sublicence, or redistribute access to ForgeDash

9. Service Availability

We aim to keep ForgeDash available at all times but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. We may temporarily suspend the service for maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.

We will provide reasonable notice of planned maintenance where possible.

10. Third-Party Services

ForgeDash uses the following third-party services to deliver the platform:

  • Supabase — database hosting and authentication
  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • Google (Gemini) — receipt OCR / expense extraction
  • Cloudflare — DNS, CDN, DDoS protection, and web application firewall (WAF)

ForgeDash is hosted on our own dedicated server, including the Windmill workflow that processes receipt uploads.

These services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for outages or issues caused by third-party service providers.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • ForgeDash is provided as a tool to assist with financial management — it is not a substitute for professional accounting or tax advice
  • We are not liable for any tax miscalculations, filing errors, or financial losses arising from your use of the platform
  • Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £100 (whichever is greater)

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for: death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

12. Termination & Suspension

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, use the platform unlawfully, or engage in activity that harms other users or the service.

If we terminate your account, we will give you reasonable notice (except in cases of serious breach) and provide a way to export your data before deletion.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or through a notification on the ForgeDash platform at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you have a complaint, please contact us at [email protected] first so we can try to resolve the matter informally.
